What we aim for
Tetsuryu aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard behind the European norm EN 301 549. Every page works with the keyboard and without JavaScript where it can, in light and dark colours and at phone width; text can be enlarged; moving pictures follow the “reduce motion” setting of your device; single-key shortcuts can be switched off; and every page is checked by automatic tests for headings, labels, picture descriptions and contrast before a change goes live.
This is a private, non-commercial community site. Whether accessibility laws apply to it has not been decided by a court or an authority; we follow the standard because it makes the site better for everyone.
What does not work well yet
- The site has been checked with automatic tests and with the keyboard, but not yet by a person using a screen reader. Please tell us what you find.
- Newspaper pages and maps are pictures. Editors describe each newspaper page in a short text; the homes on a map are also listed as text next to the map.
- The music is made by the browser and has no words. It is switched off with the music button at the top of every page.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, write to karsicasw@gmail.com. Say which page it is and what happened. We answer within 14 days. Reports are handled by email only: the site itself stores nothing about them (see the privacy policy).
